Kenneth Scott Latourette was an American historian and author of several books, including "The Old World in the New" (1932). He served as the President of the American Historical Association in 1940. He was also the Chairman of the Committee on the History of Population in Europe. His final book, "The Mediterranean World in Late Antiquity: AD 395-600" (1960), reviewed the history of the period between the death of Theodosius I (395) and the Arab conquest (600).
